Raleigh orders a state-of-the-art, precision slitter.
To complement and extend our current conversion facilities we have today placed an order for a brand new cantilevered centre-winder slitting machine to take our slitter total to 4 machines.
The new machine will handle jumbo rolls in excess of 1200mm diameter @ 1640mm widths and slit them down to as slim as 25mm on 75mm cores.
The rewind station comprises of two swing-out, airshafts which cantilever for rapid unloading of the finished reels of up to 800mm outside diameter. These airshafts are of differential design to ensure perfect reel-build every time.
The motors and latest digital-drives are designed to create and maintain precise and smooth tension control of the finished reels, which is paramount when rewinding narrow width reels. Both unwinding and rewinding tension is automatically controlled.
A two stage digital length counter is fitted for accurate measurement of material and automatic machine stop.
The slitter is equipped with both shear and razor slitting knives to provide for the cleanest edge on various paper, film and foil laminates. It can also slit open-face (self-wound) adhesive constructions too.
The machine is also equipped with edge guidance and will of course conform to the latest safety and CE standards.
We plan to install the machine in a “clean” area which is designed for an easy upgrade to full cleanroom status.
The full investment is in excess of £125,000
Installation is scheduled for April 2008, why not book a date in your diary to come and see it and our contract coating & laminating facilities.
