The new Pilot Coating line has been commissioned today.
We ran a range of adhesives at various coatweights on a number of different substrates (paper and film) and the machine performed faultlessly.
The resultant coating in each case was consistent in weight along and across the web and the finish very good.
Making changes to the coatweight was managed on the fly by simply adjusting the precision knife gap setting and the resultant dry coating weight was predictable and consistent.
Changing the adhesive and the substrate took a matter of minutes in each case, was totally hassle-free and created no mess.
We also laminated-in two different gauges of film and there was no problem with either.
In a nutshell…the system works a treat.
