Conversion Department

To compliment our contract coating & laminating service, we can also offer customers who have, or would like to have, coating services with us a comprehensive trimming, slitting & rewinding service too. This service is only available to customers who have their material coated at Raleigh Coatings as we do not offer a converting or slitting-only service.

Briefly our conversion facilities comprise of four slitting machines, one of which can be configured to include dry-lamination.

We employ razor-in-air, rotary shear and lathe slitting techniques depending on the substrates to be slit.

Our new rewind slitting machine combines the latest precision automatic tension control with differential rewinding shafts to provide for the best possible slit coil build. AC Digital drives, SCADA system, a precision square (90 degree) or slanted angle splicing table and a peel-off roll are a few of the options this machine is loaded with. The machine is designed to handle the extremes of thin-films such as BOPP and PET as well as much thicker multi-layer laminates, in addition to open-face coating where the adhesive is exposed whilst slitting is performed.
